RPE and DOORS document creation

Does anyone know how to add a custom DOORS attribute on an RPE document for DOORS export

OR

export a view from DOORS regardless of which columns are being displayed at the time of the export?

I am so frustrated with this process right now.

I am new to RPE but I took the DOORSdata.dta document and tried to modify it to add my "Criticality" attribute and can't figure out how. It seems to only let me add attributes to the document that are built in to DOORS already, such as "Object Heading" or "Object Text". I KNOW this tool has to allow for this functionality but I'm so frustrated at trying to figure out how.

You'll get some other answers here I'm sure. Here's a couple of pointers:

Post questions like this in the DOORS general discussion, and in the RPE Developerworks section for faster response. We are typically using this board for Administrative stuff, not product use.

To answer your questions:
To get a custom attribute to show up in a RPE template for use, you need to "discover" the schema of the module you are targeting. Look in the help on how to do that. Once you have, you will see module.object.yourattribute in the element picker for queries.

To get a view from DOORS in its entirety, use the supplied template called doorsView.dta (attached), and in your launcher, configure the template entry so that it points to the module you wish to extract the view from, and specify the view name.

Hope this gets you in the right direction. Join the Publishing Engine forum. You'll get lots of help there.

First of all... BRAVO! I've been working on this for SO long and have just about pulled my hair out and given up! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!
Secondly, I will definitely be more cognizant of the board I post to. I was so frustrated by the time I posted this that I didn't even realize the location. My mistake.
